Countryside Cottage, Cotswolds

After refurbishing our client's property in London, they asked us to help redecorate their holiday home in the Cotswolds - we were obviously delighted with their faith in us.

They had in mind an aesthetic that felt softer than their London property, reflecting the calm atmosphere of the Cotswolds. We took inspiration from the natural surroundings, creating a muted colour palette of soft greens, blues and pinks. We also wove in natural materials, like linen and timber, bringing the textures of the countryside inside.

It was important that the cottage didn’t feel too traditional for our clients, so we paired classically shaped furniture with contemporary fabrics including artisanal, hand-printed florals and solid linens. We also worked with their existing furniture, repainting some pieces to give them new life and vitality.

The bedroom features a beautiful hand-crafted timber bed, with a natural linen headboard and matching bedside tables. A vintage rug nestles underneath. While In the bathrooms, we specified classic sanitaryware and accessories.

The whole cottage works cohesively together. When we walk inside, we feel incredibly peaceful, in touch with nature, but with a contemporary twist.  It’s the epitome of holistic design.
