Lake District Home
This was a rather unique one – an existing client whose house we’d designed in London, and who decided, during lockdown, to move out of London up to the Lake District.
Fortunately we offer a fully remote interior design service, so when they asked us to work on their new property, we were very happy to do so, and indeed, keen to explore how the remote design process would work in practice.
The brief was to create a contemporary and colourful interior, with materials that were pet friendly. We worked closely with our clients and communicated the design ideas over video calls.
They also sent us a variety of video walk-throughs of the property, so we could get a better sense of how the light moved in the rooms and a feeling of scale and circulation.
We provided guidance on the interior finishes, including floors, joinery and the paint specification. When it came to the furniture, we used some of their existing pieces that we’d specified in their London property, as well as family rugs and other heirlooms.
We also designed some new pieces including beds and bespoke sofas and chairs upholstered in unique and hard-wearing pet-friendly fabrics. The result is a colourful property, that both suits our client’s new lifestyle in the Lake District, and proves to us that remote design is a viable option when the need arises.

“Wren and Be-Kin are very professional, on time and always friendly. Wren has a very calming and soothing manner about her. All these qualities make her a pleasure to work with. I have no hesitation in highly recommending her to advise and help with any decorating/ design work - no matter how big or small. If it is only 1 room you want to decorate she will create a beautiful space for you that aligns with the look and feel of the rest of the house. And of course if she is working on an entire property - the magic really happens.”
